Registered Nurse - Psych Emergency Services (PES)
About The Position
Saint Clare's Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for Psych Emergency Services (PES). Registered nurses provide care to patients with mental health needs, educate patients about mental and medical conditions, and offer advice and emotional support to patients and/or family members. The role includes running therapeutic groups and providing psychiatric crisis intervention, including seclusion and restraint when needed. Nurses document medical histories and symptoms, assist with diagnostic testing and analysis, operate medical equipment, administer treatments and medications, and support patient follow-up and rehabilitation. They also teach patients and families about managing illness or injury, diet and exercise programs, self-administration of medication, and physical therapy. Other related duties may be assigned.
Requirements
- Current and valid State license as a Registered Nurse.
- Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
- Working knowledge of Mental Health Laws and practice standards.
- Working knowledge of the interdisciplinary treatment team process, behavioral health programming, and daily nursing functions for inpatient and outpatient behavioral health units.
- Working knowledge of the continuum of care for behavioral health care.

- Perform other related duties.
