About The Position

Saint Clare's Health is seeking a Registered Nurse for Psych Emergency Services (PES). Registered nurses provide patient care and education, offer advice and emotional support to patients and/or family members, run therapeutic groups, provide psychiatric crisis intervention, and manage seclusion and restraint of patients. They document patient histories and symptoms, assist with diagnostic tests and analyze results, operate medical machinery, administer treatments and medications, and support patient follow-up and rehabilitation. Nurses also teach patients and families about managing illnesses or injuries, diet and exercise programs, self-administration of medication, and physical therapy. Other related duties may be assigned.

Requirements

Current and valid State license as a Registered Nurse.
Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintain current.
Working knowledge of Mental Health Laws and practice standards.
Working knowledge of the interdisciplinary treatment team process, behavioral health programming, and daily nursing functions for inpatient and outpatient behavioral health units.
Working knowledge of the continuum of care for behavioral health care.

Teach patients and families how to manage illness or injury, diet and exercise programs, medication self-administration, and physical therapy.
Perform other related duties.
