About The Position
Minden Medical Center is hiring a full-time Registered Nurse for its Emergency Department in Minden, Louisiana. The position is scheduled from 7AM to 7PM with rotating weekends and involves delivering safe, timely care to patients of all ages. The nurse supports rapid assessment and triage, provides bedside nursing care, administers medications, documents care, communicates with patients and families, and collaborates with physicians and the ED care team. The day includes receiving handoff, reviewing room status and patient acuity, coordinating with laboratory, imaging, and providers, monitoring ongoing patients, providing comfort measures and education, completing documentation, confirming follow-ups, and giving a clear report to the next team.
Requirements
- Louisiana or multistate RN License.
- AHA BLS certification required.
- ACLS, PALS, TNCC, and De-Escalation/Crisis Intervention required by the end of orientation.
- ENPC required within 3 months of hire.
Responsibilities
- Support rapid patient assessment and triage in the Emergency Department.
- Provide bedside nursing care to patients of all ages.
- Administer medications.
- Document patient care and maintain frequent chart updates.
- Communicate with patients and families, including providing education and comfort measures.
- Collaborate and coordinate with physicians, the ED care team, laboratory, and imaging.
- Monitor ongoing patients and help keep care moving.
- Complete key notes, confirm follow-ups, and provide a clear handoff report to the next team.
