About The Position
The Registered Nurse provides safe, direct patient care in the Med/Surg/Telemetry Unit using the nursing process of assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation. The role includes directing and guiding patient and family teaching and the activities of other nursing personnel while maintaining standards of care. The nurse is directly responsible and accountable for the care of assigned patients and communicates with physicians about changes in clinical condition, cardiac monitoring, diagnostic study results, and symptoms. The nurse must respond quickly and accurately to changes in a patient’s condition or response to treatment.
Requirements
- Current and valid state RN license.
- Current BLS certificate upon hire and maintained thereafter.
Nice To Haves
- Current ACLS certificate within 30 days of hire and maintained thereafter (preferred).
- Previous acute-care hospital experience (preferred).
- Ventilator management experience (preferred).
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) (preferred).
Responsibilities
- Deliver safe patient care using assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation.
- Provide direct patient care within the scope of practice.
- Direct and guide patient and family teaching and the activities of other nursing personnel.
- Maintain standards of care in the Med/Surg/Telemetry Unit.
- Remain accountable for the care of assigned patients.
- Communicate with physicians about changes in patients’ clinical conditions, cardiac monitoring, diagnostic study results, and symptoms.
- Respond quickly and accurately to changes in patient condition or response to treatment.
