About The Position
CACI is seeking a highly motivated Intermediate Buyer to perform procurement support to the C5ISR Center at Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD. This role involves collaborating with internal teams, reviewing requisitions, preparing bid requests, expediting deliveries, and maintaining procurement records. The position also focuses on streamlining procurement processes, optimizing them through best practices and continuous improvement, and acting as a primary problem-solver for complex procurement issues. The role requires a deep understanding of federal procurement regulations and the ability to ensure compliance while training others. An analytical mindset is crucial for evaluating supplier performance, costs, and risks, using data to inform strategic decisions and mentor team members. Expert negotiation and relationship management skills are needed to maintain strong supplier and stakeholder partnerships. The ability to make independent, strategic decisions and manage high-pressure situations effectively is also essential, along with a forward-thinking approach to anticipate and mitigate procurement delays.
Requirements
- Active Secret Clearance with eligibility to upgrade to a TS/SCI
- Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) with at least 3 years of experience, or 6 years of relevant work experience.
- Deep understanding of federal procurement regulations and requirements, including FAR/DFARS, and the ability to ensure compliance while training others.
- Analytical mindset to evaluate supplier performance, costs, and risks, using data to inform strategic decisions and mentor team members in developing these skills.
- Expert negotiation and relationship management skills to maintain strong supplier and stakeholder partnerships.
- Ability to make independent, strategic decisions and effectively manage high-pressure situations while guiding and mentoring the team.
- Demonstrated forward-thinking approach to anticipate and mitigate procurement delays, modeling proactive behavior for the team.
- Exceptional organizational, analytical, and communication skills to manage multiple priorities and provide clear, concise updates to all involved parties.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with submitting IT hardware and software through Army & DoD approval processes, to include the Army Chief Information Officer (CIO) / G-6 portal.
- Experience purchasing IT items via the Computer Hardware Enterprise Software and Solutions (CHESS) process.
- Experience with Department of Defense (DoD) and Department of the Army (DA) receiving procedures and forms, to include DD 1149’s, DA 3161’s, and DA 2062’s.
- CACI Procure to Pay (P2P) purchasing tool experience.
Responsibilities

- Prepares procurement reports for management briefing.
- Maintains procurement records, such as items or services purchased, costs, and delivery.
- Streamlines and optimizes procurement processes by implementing best practices and continuous improvement strategies, ensuring timely delivery and compliance.
- Acts as a primary problem-solver for complex procurement issues, setting an example of effective decision-making and proactive solutions.
- Receives and reviews purchase requests, gathers and evaluates quotes, and seeks necessary approvals.
- Drives a culture of accountability, integrity, and innovation within the procurement team.
