Groundskeeper - Part Time

About The Position

The Groundskeeper is responsible for the overall upkeep of property grounds, and common area. The work is primarily conducted outside. Exposure to hot, cold, and wet conditions. Exposure to higher noise levels. Exposure to certain chemicals. Exposure to pollens and other allergens.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Prior grounds-keeping, landscaping or related work experience required
  • Ability to sit for long periods of time
  • Ability to use hands and fingers
  • Ability to speak, see, and hear
  • Ability to reach, bend, stoop, push, and pull
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
  • Ability to walk and climb stairs
  • Ability to think, concentrate, and communicate

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Pool Operator designation preferred (if applicable)

Responsibilities

  • Keep all buildings and common areas free of debris and trash, including anywhere visible to students and parents
  • Repair fences, gates, walls, and walkways
  • Paint fences and outbuildings
  • Clean out drainage, ditches, and culverts
  • Perform a variety of tasks, which may include any combination of the following: mowing, trimming, planting, watering, fertilizing, digging, raking, etc.
  • Make minor repairs on all maintenance equipment
  • Notify supervisor of hazardous conditions and safety issues
  • Assist with inclement weather needs (i.e. floods, snow, ice, etc.)
