About The Position

Grand Canyon University, a leading institution in Arizona, is seeking a full-time Clinical Faculty member for its vibrant ABSN program in Henderson. As a faculty member, you will provide instruction, incorporating innovative teaching methodologies and technologies relevant to the nursing discipline. The position is based at the Henderson ABSN site but requires daily travel within the greater Las Vegas area to observe student performance during clinical rotations. Clinical rotations involve 3-12 hour shifts in the greater Las Vegas area, with other hours spent in the lab.

Requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Nursing (MSN) required.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ work experience in MedSurg nursing within the last 2 years.
  • An active, current, and unencumbered Registered Nurse license in the state of Nevada or a compact state.
  • Must successfully pass a drug test.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior teaching experience at the collegiate level preferred.
  • Evidence of involvement in one’s professional area (e.g., membership in professional organizations, presentations, research, and/or publications).
  • Participation in and/or support of the university program in all areas including an evident congruence with the philosophy and direction of the institution, and service to the community.

Responsibilities

  • Reinforce didactic content and teach in the context of clinical and lab application of knowledge and skills related to pre-licensure nursing.
  • Collaborate with content area faculty to provide expert evaluation and documentation of student progress toward clinical and lab objectives.
  • Participate in grading written assignments and clinical/lab performance check-offs.
  • Maintain communication with program faculty and director, including attendance at select faculty meetings.
  • Remain current with new trends and developments in the specific field of nursing practice.
  • Maintain compliance with requirements for program accreditation.
  • Uphold the tenets of nursing as a holistic profession and the pillars of the University.
  • Provide a positive example to students by supporting the University’s Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement, and Mission.
  • Travel to student clinical sites to directly observe student performance.
