About The Position

Requirements

• Master’s degree in nursing.
• Current registration as a Professional Nurse in good standing with the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing.
• At least 3 years of nursing practice experience.
• At least 3 years of professional experience in one or more of the following areas: training, staff development, simulation lab, nursing education, or supervisory experience.
• Demonstrated communication and relationship-building skills.
• Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the comprehensive community college philosophy.
• Knowledge of contemporary educational practices and standards, including alternative educational delivery systems, instructional techniques, and distance learning modalities.
• Commitment to incorporating information literacy, technology, writing, and diversity in the curriculum.
• PA Child Abuse, PA State Police, and FBI fingerprinting clearances completed before the first day of employment.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with nursing specialized accreditation and development of accreditation documents.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate all aspects of Nursing Program admissions, including recruitment, reviewing student eligibility, and collaborating with academic advisors.
• Assist with orientation, student registration, and the student handbook.
• Resolve student, faculty, and staff concerns and facilitate communication among concerned parties to address conflicts.
• Assist the Director with preparing accurate, current records and reports required by the College and approval or accrediting organizations.
• Oversee the Simulation Lab and support Simulation Lab faculty.
• Coordinate scheduling with clinical agencies.
• Create semester schedules for clinical site visits, clinical activities, simulation, and lab activities in collaboration with the Nursing Coordinator and simulation lab faculty.
• Audit student and faculty compliance with clinical site contract requirements, escalate issues, and report compliance concerns or violations.
• Serve as a liaison among clinical agencies, faculty, staff, students, and program stakeholders.
• Coordinate acquisition, upgrades, warranties, and maintenance of equipment.
• Determine needs for software, equipment, medical supplies, and laboratory supplies, and place orders as necessary.
• Oversee ordering and distribution of individual student laboratory supplies.
• Support health promotion events in collaboration with course faculty.
• Represent the Nursing Program at recruitment and community events.
• Organize the Nursing Pinning Ceremony, including planning with students, ordering supplies, and coordinating with Marketing and Communications.
• Assist with orientation for new faculty.
• Maintain contact with alumni after graduation to promote adherence to the NCLEX-RN test preparation plan according to established guidelines.
• Lead Nursing Program operations in the Director’s absence.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
