About The Position

Requirements

• Master's degree in nursing required.
• National nursing board certification in specialty area required.
• Minimum of five years professional nursing practice experience required.
• Demonstrates leadership and management skills with knowledge and application of advanced professional nursing practice, CQI process, nursing care delivery models, health care delivery systems, and budgetary process.
• Licensed as Registered Nurse in the State of Florida

Nice To Haves

• Current staff without MSN must obtain degree by December 2012 or as contracted by the VP/AVP.
• Current staff without professional nursing board certification in specialty area must obtain certification as contracted by the VP/AVP.

Responsibilities

• Provides leadership in the development of professional nursing practice by providing administrative support and structure for the delivery of professional nursing care in the Department of Nursing and Patient Services.
• Accountable for strategic planning, implementation, evaluation, and revision of systems that support professional practice and achieve the nursing vision and organizational goals.
• Maintains 24-hour accountability for unit functions.
• Provides leadership to achieve the organization's mission of excellent patient care and nursing's vision of setting a new standard of excellence in autonomous and accountable nursing practice committed to patient advocacy and innovative patient care in a climate of trust and collaboration.
