Locum- Midwife
About The Position
Seeking an experienced Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) to provide inpatient obstetric and midwifery care, including prenatal care, labor and delivery, postpartum care, triage, and family planning. The provider will collaborate with OB/GYN physicians and co-manage moderate- and high-risk obstetric patients. The assignment is a contract lasting at least three months, with an ASAP start. The schedule is approximately 13 shifts per month, or three shifts per week, including two weekends per month. Day shifts run from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM, and night shifts run from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM. There is no call. The EMR is Epic. Clinical volume is approximately 10 deliveries and 11 triage patients per day.
Requirements
- Current, active CNM board certification.
- Active Virginia license.
- Virginia DEA registration, or willingness to update an existing DEA address or obtain an additional DEA registration.
- Ability to independently perform the required CNM/OB skills and procedures.
- Must meet applicable immunization requirements.
- Copy of current board certification or online verification of active board status.
- Active Virginia license.
- Virginia DEA registration or confirmation of willingness to obtain/update registration.
Responsibilities
- Provide prenatal, labor and delivery, postpartum, and family-planning care.
- Manage labor and perform vaginal deliveries.
- Perform fetal monitoring, testing, and obstetric ultrasounds.
- Perform laceration and episiotomy repairs and manual placental delivery.
- Manage multiple pregnancies and evaluate preterm labor or ruptured membranes.
- Perform IUD insertion and removal and other applicable gynecological procedures.
- Assist with C-sections and/or tubal ligation as qualified.
- Collaborate with OB/GYN physicians in managing high-risk obstetric conditions.
