About The Position

Sea Mar Community Health Centers is seeking a mission-driven Certified Nurse Midwife dedicated to serving underserved and diverse communities. As a Nurse Midwife, you will provide primary medical care services to patients in accordance with your training, experience, certification, and licensure, aligning with Sea Mar's principles and mission. You will be part of a care team, collaborating with staff to deliver quality, comprehensive, and coordinated care.

Requirements

Graduation from an accredited training program or an acceptable equivalent.
Board Certified with appropriate Nursing Specialty Board.
Washington State license to practice medicine.
Minimum of 2 years of experience.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in community health is preferred.
Bilingual ability in English and Spanish is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

Provide primary well woman, family planning, antepartum, intrapartum, postpartum, and newborn care services.
Consult with appropriate physicians when patient care needs exceed the scope of training.
Provide appropriate hospital care as required.
Refer patients to medical specialists or other sources of service when necessary.
Prescribe and/or dispense required medication according to Washington State Board authority.
Provide professional supervision to assigned staff of nurses and other paraprofessionals.
Participate in preventive health programs, including immunization, disease detection, and education for patients and community groups.
Work closely with administrative personnel, including the Clinical and Medical Director, on reports, grant proposals, and other administrative activities.
Initiate the process for high-risk antepartum and intrapartum conditions as defined by community standards.
