About The Position
This is a locum position for a Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) to address a staff shortage during recruitment. The role involves a combination of clinic and hospital settings, with immediate start for 6 months, and a possibility of extension. The CNM will be responsible for attending deliveries, performing vaginal repairs, co-managing high-risk obstetrics cases, and managing labor in collaboration with obstetric physicians. The position requires proficiency in the EPIC electronic medical record system.
Requirements
- Board Certification in Nurse Midwifery
- BLS Certification (American Heart Association)
- Active California CNM license
- Certified Nurse Midwife (in CA)
- Current California Registered Nurse License
- AMCB CNM National Certification
- California Nurse Midwife Furnishing Certification
- Minimum 1 year of current practice
Nice To Haves
- 3 years of recent CNM experience
Responsibilities
- Attend deliveries
- Perform 1st and 2nd degree vaginal repairs
- Co-manage high-risk obstetrics cases (e.g., hypertension and diabetes)
- Manage labor in collaboration with obstetric physicians
- Facilitate medication administration, triage, and board management
