About The Position

ChristianaCare is seeking a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) to join our Inpatient Addiction Consult & Liaison Team. This role provides specialized consultation services focused on substance use disorders, including opioid withdrawal management and medication-assisted treatment across Christiana Hospital and Wilmington Hospital. Working closely with Addiction Medicine Peer Counselors, Discharge Coordinators, physicians, social workers, and nursing staff, the APC will play a key role in improving outcomes for patients experiencing addiction-related health conditions. This is an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of individuals affected by substance use disorders while collaborating with a highly skilled multidisciplinary team dedicated to compassionate, evidence-based care.

Requirements

  • Master's or Doctoral Degree in Nursing or accredited Physician Assistant program with NCCPA certification
  • Current APRN or Physician Assistant licensure or eligibility for licensure in the State of Delaware
  • Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP) certification required
  • DEA registration or eligibility
  • Current BLS certification

Responsibilities

  • Providing specialized consultation services focused on substance use disorders, including opioid withdrawal management and medication-assisted treatment.
  • Working closely with Addiction Medicine Peer Counselors, Discharge Coordinators, physicians, social workers, and nursing staff.
  • Improving outcomes for patients experiencing addiction-related health conditions.
  • Practicing evidence-based addiction treatment at the top of your license.
  • Collaborating with peer counselors, care coordinators, behavioral health professionals, and physicians in a supportive environment.
  • Contributing to ChristianaCare's commitment to advancing recovery-focused care across our health system.
