About The Position

TEN (Transportation Equipment Network) is hiring a Mobile Trailer Technician to travel to customer locations and perform trailer inspections, diagnostics, maintenance, and repairs. This hands-on role suits technicians who enjoy troubleshooting, working independently, and delivering high-quality service in the field. Technicians work on a range of trailer systems and equipment while representing TEN, a transportation maintenance network serving North America. The role includes responding to mobile service calls, completing on-site repairs, conducting preventive maintenance and DOT inspections, and servicing dry van, flatbed, utility, cargo, and commercial fleet trailers. Work must meet safety and compliance standards, and technicians are responsible for documenting work, managing parts inventory on their service vehicle, and maintaining an organized, professional work environment. Requirements

  • Experience as a Trailer Technician, Trailer Mechanic, Mobile Mechanic, or Fleet Maintenance Technician.
  • Strong mechanical and troubleshooting skills.
  • Experience with welding, brake systems, suspension, and electrical repair.
  • Ability to work independently in a mobile service environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
  • Familiarity with hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to mobile service calls and complete on-site trailer repairs.
  • Inspect, diagnose, and troubleshoot trailer issues.
  • Perform preventive maintenance and DOT inspections.
  • Repair and replace trailer brake systems, suspension systems, electrical wiring and lighting, floors, doors, frames, and structural components.
  • Troubleshoot and repair liftgate issues.
  • Perform welding and fabrication work as required.
  • Complete work orders and maintenance documentation.
  • Manage inventory and parts on the service vehicle.
  • Ensure all work meets safety and compliance standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and professional work environment.
