Work collaboratively with a team to advocate for patients during exams and treatments, room patients, and prepare for physicians by obtaining medical histories and charting information. Administer intramuscular medications, remove sutures, and collect and prepare laboratory specimens. Assist with various procedures, manage pathology logs, e-prescribe medications, handle paperwork, and communicate with insurance companies for prior authorizations, while maintaining treatment rooms and managing inventory. Will need to travel to Gainesville, and Dallas-Park Lane location!

Requirements

  • High school or equivalent (Required)
  • Medical Assistant: 2+ years (Preferred)
  • EMR: 2+ years (Preferred)
  • Dermatology: 2+ years (Preferred)
  • Certified Medical Assistant or Certified Dermatology Tech (Preferred)

Responsibilities

  • Work with a team
  • Serve as a patient advocate during patient exams and treatment.
  • Room patients
  • Prepare for the physician.
  • Obtain medical histories and chart patient information, medications, allergies, and test results in medical records.
  • Ensure proper consent forms are obtained prior to preparing a patient for treatment.
  • Prepare and administer intramuscular medications as directed by a physician following safety protocol.
  • Remove sutures as instructed by physician.
  • Collect tissue or other laboratory specimens, log the specimens, and prepare them for testing.
  • Explain treatment plan and physicians' instructions to patients.
  • Manage pathology log and inform patients of biopsy results.
  • Return patient phones calls and answer questions, under physician direction.
  • Assist with procedures such as biopsies, skin surgeries, and cosmetic procedures.
  • Under physician direction, e-prescribe medications to patient pharmacies.
  • Authorize medication refills and provide prescription information to pharmacies.
  • Manage paperwork and assist patients with obtaining biologic medications.
  • Manage Ipledge and isotretinoin prescriptions.
  • Communication with insurance companies for prior authorizations.
  • Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, keep exam rooms clean and ready for patient care.
  • Inventory management, stocking and supplying ordering as needed.
  • Attend all required meetings and training as outlined by Bare Dermatology.
  • Complete paperwork and other tasks as outlined by Bare Dermatology.
