About The Position

Requirements

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• Graduate of Medical Assistant program.
• Current certification or registration through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or another equivalent organization
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS) completion

Nice To Haves

• 2 years’ experience as a medical assistant

Responsibilities

• Assists in examination and treatment of patients under the direction of a provider; measures vital signs, and interviews patients to obtain health histories.
• Under the provider's direction, provides health promotion and counseling to patients and caregivers.
• Identifies patient care requirements by establishing personal rapport with potential and actual patients and caregivers.
• Ensures understanding of the plan of care.
• Administers medications and immunizations (injectable, oral, topical, aerosol), provides wound care, and personal health interventions at the direction of a provider, as deemed competent.
• Performs patient testing to include specimen collection, CLIA-waved testing, blood collection, and electrocardiogram
• Serve as a communication liaison for the healthcare team.
• Assists with patient scheduling and follow up care.
• Maintains accurate, detailed patient records and charts using an electronic medical record (EMR) system
• Maintains a safe and clean work environment by complying with policies and procedures, rules, and regulations.
• May perform other duties as assigned or requested and job specification can be modified or updated at any time
