This position is responsible for the provision of education and training to all Colorado Mental Health Hospital at Pueblo (CMHHIP) staff, specifically focusing on mandatory training and new employee orientation (NEO). Key responsibilities include the annual assessment of mandatory learning needs across all disciplines, the identification of areas for improvement within mandatory trainings, the development and implementation of curricula and educational materials to address identified needs, and the delivery and evaluation of all provided education. The role mandates meticulous tracking and reporting of educational compliance, as well as a comprehensive understanding of regulatory and accrediting standards pertinent to the Staff Education department. This position ensures that all staff education aligns with accrediting standards and guidelines. The role is critical in establishing the Staff Education Department as an organizational priority, necessitating the creation of strategic, operational, and programmatic processes that deliver high-quality educational programming designed to enhance clinical competency and ultimately improve patient healthcare outcomes. These processes must reflect a collaborative, interdisciplinary, and state-of-the-art approach to the execution, formulation, and creation of educational objectives, thereby integrating educational services throughout the hospital in support of its overall mission and statement. The position includes oversight, in collaboration with the Quality Support Services Department (QSS), for the interpretation and implementation of educational standards set by outside regulatory agencies. These agencies include The Joint Commission (JC), Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), the BHA Rules and Regulations, and the Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE). This role involves planning, directing, and administering the development of CMHHIP's mandatory trainings, utilizing internal and external expertise and arranging for subject matter experts to meet facility needs. This position provides management and oversight of the Staff Education Department personnel, collaborates with other hospital leaders, and represents the Staff Education Department on hospital-wide committees and work groups.
