About The Position

Nomad Global Communications Solutions is a leading provider of communication and response products serving a wide variety of customers. The Supply Chain Planning & Purchasing Manager leads the planning and purchasing functions responsible for translating demand, production schedules, project requirements, inventory positions, and supplier lead times into executable material plans and timely procurement actions. This role is accountable for material availability, MRP discipline, purchase order execution, ERP data integrity, and the day-to-day performance of planners and buyers to ensure production and project commitments are supported with the right materials, in the right quantities, at the right time, and at the appropriate cost. The position partners cross-functionally with Materials Management, Production, Engineering, Project Management, Finance, Quality, Sourcing, and other stakeholders to identify material constraints, resolve supply and transaction issues, align priorities, and implement recovery plans that protect operational continuity and customer delivery. The manager establishes operating rhythms, performance measures, and accountability for requisition-to-purchase-order conversion, supplier acknowledgments, open-order management, shortage response, planning exception resolution, and accurate maintenance of supplier, order, lead-time, and planning data. The Supply Chain Planning & Purchasing Manager is expected to leverage ERP systems, reporting, and analytics to convert supply and demand information into actionable decisions; improve and standardize end-to-end planning and purchasing processes; develop and maintain SOPs, work instructions, and controls; support audit readiness through documentation, traceability, and disciplined execution; and lead continuous improvement initiatives focused on material availability, schedule adherence, transaction accuracy, supplier delivery, cost, and execution reliability.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen for consideration and meet all Federal Contractor employee requirements.
  • Nomad GCS does not support the H1B Visa for this position.
  • Associate degree in business, economics, applied science, supply chain, operations management, or a related field required.
  • Minimum of 7 to 10 years of documented supply chain, purchasing, materials planning, or production support experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Proven experience managing buyers, planners, purchasing teams, or material planning functions.
  • Strong understanding of ERP/MRP-driven purchasing and manufacturing environments.
  • Demonstrated ability to improve purchasing discipline, material availability, planning accuracy, and buyer execution.
  • Experience supporting cross-functional operations in a project-based or engineer-to-order manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Verifiable history of implementing change and improving operational processes.
  • Working knowledge of MRP systems, master schedules, bills of material, inventory control, and logistics.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain planning and procurement best practices.
  • Ability to transform data into actionable information.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to transition between tactical execution and strategic improvement.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and reasoning capability.
  • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills and follow-through.
  • Flexible and adaptable in a changing manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and support optimized materials planning processes that align with supply chain planning best practices.
  • Ensure planning activities are aligned to production schedules, project requirements, demand signals, inventory position, and material lead times.
  • Oversee MRP execution to identify material shortages, excess inventory, late supply, and order timing issues.
  • Partner with Production, Materials Management, Engineering, Project Management, and Finance to ensure planning decisions support business and operational objectives.
  • Monitor purchase requisitions, planned orders, demand changes, and supply exceptions to ensure timely conversion into executable purchasing actions.
  • Support the development and continuous improvement of planning processes, reports, and controls that improve material availability and schedule adherence.
  • Maintain planning discipline within the ERP system to support accurate procurement, reporting, and operational decision-making.
  • Manage the timely preparation and execution of purchase orders for goods and services.
  • Review requisitions for accuracy, completeness, supplier alignment, pricing, lead time, and project requirements.
  • Ensure buyer activities are completed accurately and on time to support production, project delivery, and operational continuity.
  • Drive accountability for purchasing high-quality materials at the lowest practical cost while maintaining adequate supply levels.
  • Monitor open purchase orders, late supplier deliveries, confirmations, acknowledgment gaps, and expedite requirements.
  • Ensure purchasing transactions are accurate, timely, and aligned with internal process requirements.
  • Support issue resolution related to shortages, supplier delays, pricing discrepancies, receiving issues, and invoice holds.
  • Maintain data accuracy and completeness in the company’s ERP system to support procurement, planning, and reporting needs.
  • Ensure purchase orders, supplier records, lead times, order quantities, promise dates, and planning parameters are accurate and maintained.
  • Monitor transactional compliance across planning and purchasing activities.
  • Develop reporting routines that identify material risk, late purchase orders, unconfirmed purchase orders, and planning exceptions.
  • Support continuous improvement efforts that improve ERP reliability and supply chain visibility.
  • Provide direct leadership to Materials Planning and Purchasing personnel.
  • Set clear expectations for buyers and planners related to responsiveness, accuracy, follow-through, and production support.
  • Establish daily, weekly, and monthly operating rhythms to review priorities, shortages, late orders, and planning exceptions.
  • Define and implement performance metrics to measure planning and purchasing effectiveness.
  • Coach team members on tactical execution, ERP discipline, supplier follow-up, and cross-functional communication.
  • Ensure the team can transition effectively between tactical production support and structured process improvement.
  • Work closely with Finance, Engineering, Operations, Sales, Project Management, and Materials Management to ensure purchasing and planning activities support business objectives.
  • Generate reports on purchasing performance, purchase order execution, material availability, supplier delivery issues, and planning accuracy.
  • Communicate material risks, constraints, and recovery actions to stakeholders in a timely and professional manner.
  • Support business goals and operational efficiency through timely and accurate supply chain execution.
