Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and 3 years work experience.
  • Possess and demonstrate positive mentoring and leadership qualities.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Participate in training events (ie; Lockout/Tagout; HazCom; and overhead crane training)
  • Treat all co-workers with dignity and respect.
  • Basic math skills.
  • Basic organizational skills.
  • Positive attitude towards work and work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Operate various size and types of sheet metal fabricating machinery such as shears, press brakes, punch presses, etc.
  • Fabricate a variety of flat and irregular shaped parts for various product lines.
  • Remove burrs, sharp corners, etc. from processed parts.
  • Using hand truck, Lift truck, or overhead crane to move materials, parts, tools, etc. to and from storage, staging areas, or workstation.
  • Obtain first piece inspection.
  • Read and interpret measuring devices.
  • Perform daily lift truck inspections.
  • Follow quality control standards to ensure meeting quality and quantity requirements.
  • Make minor adjustments to machine settings and perform general equipment inspection.
  • Adhere to established safety rules and policies.
  • Notify Supervisor or Safety Director of any unsafe acts or practice stopped.
  • Meet quality and production standards.
  • Keep work area neat and orderly on a daily basis.
  • Keep Supervisor fully informed of any problems.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
