About The Position
Microchip Technology Inc. is a global organization with a 17,000-member team that designs enterprise-class storage solutions for leading enterprises and data centers worldwide. Their products leverage modern technologies such as RAID, Security, PCIe, NVMe, SAS, SATA, SDRAM, and NAND. This position is within the Customer Tools Team of the Applications Engineering Group of Data Center Solutions. As a Senior Java Developer, you will contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of Java/Kotlin-based desktop applications. You will work on a Java-based, multi-platform GUI tool that enables customers to configure, manage, and analyze enterprise storage solutions. This opportunity offers work in a fast-growing market on innovative, enterprise-grade products within a modern engineering environment, utilizing state-of-the-art tools and technologies such as IntelliJ IDEA, GitLab, Jenkins, Bitbucket, Docker, and Kubernetes, with the chance to take ownership of meaningful customer-facing software solutions.
Requirements
- Bachelor degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent
- 5 - 7.5 years of relevant experience
- Fluent English
- Excellent communication skills

- Integration/usage of hardware stack (PCIe, CXL, SATA, TCP/IP) APIs
Nice To Haves
- 5 years experience with Desktop Java development
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the design, development, and maintenance of Java/Kotlin-based desktop applications
- Implement new features for a Java-based, multi-platform GUI tool
- Maintain existing functionality of the GUI tool
- Perform unit and integration testing
- Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams
- Create and maintain technical documentation and user manuals
