Senior Java Microservices Developer – Cloud Modernization
About The Position
Build Java Spring Boot microservices to bring a legacy operational system onto a modern cloud platform. The work focuses on modernizing the system through a microservices architecture, AWS-native technologies, and modern CI/CD. This is an on-site position in Annapolis Junction, Maryland; applicants must live within commuting distance and currently hold an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph. Ctrl+ does not sponsor new clearances or upgrades. Some roles may allow limited telework, but regular on-site attendance is required. The developer will deliver software as part of an Agile team. The role requires 9 years of relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree in a related discipline, or a master’s degree plus 7 years of experience. Compensation is approximately $113.62–$125.45 per hour, varying by qualifications, experience, and selected compensation model. The listed range excludes the employer’s 401(k) contribution. Three compensation models are available: Max Rate, With Bonus, and With Bonus and PTO; PTO and bonus eligibility depend on the model and role. Ctrl+ is a software engineering and staffing firm based in Elkridge, Maryland, supporting Department of Defense missions in the Fort Meade area and other listed locations.
Requirements
- Currently hold an active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph; new clearances and clearance upgrades are not sponsored.
- Live within commuting distance of Annapolis Junction, Maryland, and meet the regular in-person attendance requirement.
- Have 9 years of relevant experience with a bachelor’s degree in a related discipline, or a master’s degree plus 7 years of experience.
- Experience with Java and Spring Boot.
- Experience with MongoDB, OpenSearch, or other document stores.
- Experience with AWS tools, Maven, GitLab, GitOps, Kubernetes, and Docker.
- Development experience in a cloud environment.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with AWS services such as SQS, SNS, and S3.
