About The Position
The Target Language Interventionist provides in-class, small-group, and one-on-one support to students learning French or Spanish. This role focuses on increasing ACTFL proficiency through immersive, language-rich instruction and targeted intervention aligned with classroom instruction and MTSS structures.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood, Elementary Education, or related field
- Fluency in English and French or English and Spanish (required)
- Strong collaboration, communication, and data-driven instruction skills
- Commitment to equity, inclusion, and student-centered learning
Nice To Haves
- Elementary world‑language teaching experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Deliver targeted language intervention to support listening, speaking, reading, and writing
- Use immersive strategies (visuals, gestures, contextual learning) to build comprehension and confidence
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, coaches, and specialists to align intervention with core instruction
- Use formative and summative assessments to design and monitor intervention cycles
- Support Units of Inquiry and integrate PYP language and practices
- Communicate regularly with families regarding language progress and goals
- Maintain organized records, data tracking, and required documentation
- Participate in school-wide routines, meetings, and professional development
- Additional duties may be assigned based on student and school needs.
