About The Position

The Target Language Interventionist provides in-class, small-group, and one-on-one support to students learning French or Spanish. This role focuses on increasing ACTFL proficiency through immersive, language-rich instruction and targeted intervention aligned with classroom instruction and MTSS structures.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood, Elementary Education, or related field
  • Fluency in English and French or English and Spanish (required)
  • Strong collaboration, communication, and data-driven instruction skills
  • Commitment to equity, inclusion, and student-centered learning

Nice To Haves

  • Elementary world‑language teaching experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Deliver targeted language intervention to support listening, speaking, reading, and writing
  • Use immersive strategies (visuals, gestures, contextual learning) to build comprehension and confidence
  • Collaborate with classroom teachers, coaches, and specialists to align intervention with core instruction
  • Use formative and summative assessments to design and monitor intervention cycles
  • Support Units of Inquiry and integrate PYP language and practices
  • Communicate regularly with families regarding language progress and goals
  • Maintain organized records, data tracking, and required documentation
  • Participate in school-wide routines, meetings, and professional development
  • Additional duties may be assigned based on student and school needs.
