About The Position
As a remote interpreter, you facilitate communication between Hindi and English speakers. You must process information quickly and accurately in a professional manner and maintain a quiet, secure work environment. Useful tools include notepads and writing utensils, glossaries, and dictionaries. The position is remote, with the interpreter working from a home office. The role offers ongoing training and competency opportunities and monthly payments at a per-minute rate. Depending on location, language testing, a background check, and/or a drug screen may be required.
Requirements
- Proficiency at a bilingual or native level in English and the target language.
- Excellent listening, retention, and note-taking skills to maintain accuracy.
- Computer or laptop running Windows 10 or higher.
- USB wired headset.
- Steady wired internet connection.
Nice To Haves
- At least one year of interpretation experience is preferred.
- Notepads and writing utensils, glossaries, and dictionaries are useful tools.
Responsibilities
- Interpret between Hindi and English speakers.
- Process information quickly and accurately in a professional manner.
- Render concepts and meanings correctly according to established interpretation protocols, avoiding omissions or additions.
- Explain cultural concepts to prevent miscommunication when permitted or requested by the client.
- Maintain a quiet and secure work environment.
