About The Position
As a remote interpreter, you facilitate communication between Arabic and English speakers. You must process information quickly and accurately while maintaining professionalism. The role requires a quiet and secure work environment. The interpreter works from a home office and may use note pads, writing utensils, glossaries, and dictionaries. The position offers ongoing training and competency opportunities and pays monthly at a per-minute rate. Depending on location, language testing, a background check, and/or a drug screen may be required.
Requirements
- Fluency or proficiency at a bilingual/native level in English and Arabic.
- Excellent listening, retention, and note-taking skills to maintain accuracy.
- Ability to follow established interpretation protocols.
- Computer or laptop running Windows 10 or higher.
- USB wired headset.
- Steady wired internet connection.
Nice To Haves
- At least one year of interpretation experience is preferred.
- Note pads and writing utensils, glossaries, and dictionaries are useful tools.
Responsibilities
- Interpret between Arabic and English speakers, processing information quickly and accurately.
- Render concepts and meanings accurately according to established interpretation protocols, without omissions or additions.
- Explain cultural concepts when permitted or requested by the client to prevent miscommunication.
