About The Position

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Ohio driver’s license as required by hospital policy.
• Proof of auto insurance as required by hospital policy.
• Pass the motor vehicle background inspection, insurance eligibility review, driving qualifications, and training required by Nationwide Children’s Hospital; maintain qualification under insurance guidelines.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic computer knowledge.
• Ability to use a hospital-provided cell phone and communication tracking system.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a schedule to complete routine and on-demand routes daily.
• Handle pickups and deliveries from laboratories, pharmacies, homecare, referring hospitals, clinics, physician offices, and outpatient centers.
• Document route information and pickups according to department guidelines.
• Evaluate and monitor weather conditions throughout the shift to plan for anticipated trips and delays across the region.
• Maintain the safety of cargo and vehicles in accordance with hospital guidelines.
• Assist with training new staff and document their progress according to department guidelines.
• Provide efficient and effective customer service to support customer satisfaction and quality patient care.
