About The Position

Guthrie County Hospital is hiring a part-time Courier for a flexible morning or afternoon schedule averaging 15–20 hours per week. The Courier transports medical specimens, interoffice mail, clinical supplies, equipment, and other materials between the main facility and outlying clinics along a designated route. The role supports communication and logistics across the organization and requires compliance with applicable safety, regulatory, biohazard, and HIPAA protocols, as well as confidentiality and professionalism.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Excellent time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
• Dependable, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Transport laboratory specimens, medical supplies, equipment, and interoffice mail between clinic locations according to a predetermined schedule and route.
• Handle specimens in accordance with safety, biohazard, and HIPAA compliance protocols.
• Document and track transported items, obtain necessary signatures, and maintain delivery logs.
• Maintain the cleanliness and basic upkeep of the courier vehicle and promptly report maintenance issues.
• Communicate route delays, changes, or incidents to the Chief Clinic Administrator or appropriate supervisor.
• Assist with loading and unloading materials at each location.
• Maintain professionalism, punctuality, and courteous behavior when interacting with clinic staff.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
