About The Position

The Courier transports mail, supplies, equipment, bank deposits, pharmaceuticals, and laboratory specimens to Carle and non-Carle facilities. The role also includes sorting mail, electronically documenting deliveries with a handheld scanning device, and assisting with shipping, receiving, and stocking supplies. Couriers maintain assigned and pool vehicles and other equipment, address customer issues, and follow safe handling and driving procedures, including when transporting hazardous materials.

Requirements

Illinois driver's license issued by the Illinois Secretary of State (ILSOS).
Customer service work experience.

Responsibilities

Transport supplies, equipment, pharmaceuticals, bank deposits, and laboratory specimens to Carle and non-Carle facilities, documenting deliveries with a handheld scanning device.
Keep assigned vehicles, pool vehicles, and other equipment clean and in good repair.
Resolve customer-related issues and help locate lost or missing items.
Perform STAT runs as needed.
Complete assigned delivery routes efficiently while maintaining safe driving behavior.
Ensure supplies and specimens are transported intact.
Transport hazardous materials safely and in compliance with policy.
Pick up USPS mail as assigned.
Assist with shipping, receiving, and stocking supplies.
Perform mail sorting.
