About The Position

The Courier supports laboratory operations by safely and promptly picking up, transporting, and delivering environmental samples, documents, and materials. The role helps preserve sample integrity and supports accurate data used to protect communities and ecosystems. The Courier also prepares an assigned vehicle for daily operations, maintains accurate transport documentation, assists staff with sample-transport procedures, and contributes to resolving issues and improving processes. The position is scheduled Monday through Friday from 5:00 PM to 1:30 AM and pays $18.00 per hour.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid driver's license and ability to maintain all required licenses and certifications.
• Knowledge of safe driving, customer service, and sample transport principles.
• Ability to learn and follow organizational policies, procedures, and transportation protocols.
• Comfort using basic computer applications and maintaining documentation accurately.
• Strong communication skills with internal teams and external customers.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good judgment, professionalism, and discretion when interacting with others.
• Comfort operating a company vehicle equipped with GPS/telematics tracking and inward- and outward-facing safety cameras; cameras do not record audio.

• Experience in a related role is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Pick up, transport, and deliver samples, documents, and materials as needed.
• Review, complete, and process documents, databases, and related information for sample pickup, transport, and delivery.
• Prepare the assigned vehicle for daily operations, including documentation, safety checks, and basic maintenance needs.
• Provide support and assistance to staff and management related to sample transport procedures.
• Assist in researching issues and recommend solutions to improve processes and resolve customer, staff, or management concerns.
• Help ensure compliance with applicable laws, rules, and regulations, seeking guidance or escalating issues as needed.
• Offer suggestions and actively participate in team efforts to contribute to team efficiency.
