About The Position

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, economics, analytics, or a business- or management-related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in FP&A, finance, accounting, or related analytical roles.
• Strong analytical and data-gathering skills, attention to detail, and consistent delivery of high-quality work.
• Ability to balance multiple priorities and tight time demands.
• Excellent MS Excel skills.
• Self-motivation, flexibility, and a strong work ethic.
• A continuous-improvement approach, including identifying process and control gaps and championing improvement initiatives through Practical Process Improvement (PPI).
• Leadership and initiative, and alignment with Thermo Fisher Scientific’s 4-I values: Integrity, Intensity, Innovation, and Involvement.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Oracle, PLN/CMR, or SAP.
• Experience with process improvement, automation, or AI-enabled analytics tools.

Responsibilities

• Assist with weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial processes, including month-end close, reporting, planning, forecasting, and analytics.
• Support preparation of the annual operating plan and monthly and quarterly business reviews (MBR/QBR).
• Lead the division’s monthly forecast and annual budget system-loading tie-out process, providing guidance and support to business units.
• Complete close activities, investigate variances, and challenge assumptions to improve profitability and ensure accurate, timely reporting.
• Partner with IT stakeholders to analyze expenses and inform operational and strategic decisions.
• Drive continuous improvement and standardization of reporting and analytical processes to improve productivity and efficiency.
• Use AI to automate routine reporting, forecasting, and analysis, improving efficiency and insight.
• Perform special projects and ad hoc financial analysis to support business performance, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement initiatives.
