About The Position

The Intelligence Analyst provides analytical support to the U.S. Postal Inspection Service (USPIS) and is embedded with the National Cyber Forensic Training Alliance (NCFTA). The analyst uses NCFTA resources to engage public- and private-sector entities and develop actionable cyber financial fraud intelligence in support of USPIS, USPS, and their customers. The role researches and assesses information from agency databases, consumer complaints, NCFTA partners and resources, investigative sources, social media, chats, forums, darknet and Tor sources, news feeds, and other openly available Internet sources. The analyst conducts financial investigations and data analysis, checks databases and queries NCFTA financial-industry partners, documents findings, and prepares clear reports and graphic displays for varied audiences. The position supports Inspectors with case development, prepares initial research for possible referrals, and compiles background, USPS/USPIS, third-party, law-enforcement, and victim information. The analyst participates in NCFTA working groups and initiatives, monitors relevant cyber-fraud topics, liaises with private-sector groups, supports loss identification, and coordinates information deconfliction among private and public entities, USPIS field offices, and the USPIS Analytics Group.
