About The Position

Requirements

• Previous hotel engineering experience, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, commercial kitchen, and general building construction.
• Vocational training, an associate's degree, certification, and/or apprenticeship in one or more relevant areas.
• State certification or licensure where required.
• Ability to understand and efficiently maintain and operate advanced electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, and boiler systems.
• Ability to read and understand blueprints, schematic drawings, and technical parts breakdowns.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• High work ethic and self-initiative.
• Ability to work in a standard office environment, including prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer for 6–8 hours a day.
• Ability to perform frequent fine motor tasks, including keyboarding, using a mouse or trackpad, writing, and operating office equipment.
• Ability to occasionally stand, walk, bend, reach, or carry items.
• Ability to lift and/or move 10–25 pounds as needed.
• Visual ability to read computer screens and printed materials, including close visual focus for extended periods and color differentiation for certain roles.
• Ability to hear and participate in conversations and meetings and use a phone and/or headset.

Responsibilities

• Respond to service calls within half an hour of receiving them.
• Identify defects and troubleshoot malfunctions.
• Take immediate corrective action for guest-related or high-priority issues, or schedule work for completion within two days.
• Record work on departmental work order forms.
• Perform repair, maintenance, alteration, and installation work according to departmental procedures.
• Comply with applicable local, county, state, and federal codes, laws, and requirements.
• Coordinate with other department personnel, including electricians, carpenters, painters, and night engineers, to complete service, replacement, alteration, and installation work.
• Maintain and operate electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, and boiler systems.
