Senior Specialist, Mechanical Engineer

L3Harris Technologies•Palm Bay, FL
•$102,000 - $189,000•Onsite

About The Position

Design and qualify precision mechanisms behind mission systems used in complex, high-consequence environments. The role owns major components and subsystems from early concepts through integration and test, supporting delivery of dependable capabilities for demanding customer missions. This is an on-site position in Palm Bay, Florida, or Carlsbad, California, involving direct laboratory, prototype, integration, and hardware-testing activities. The position is a senior professional role requiring strong knowledge of its job area and broad project-management knowledge. The engineer manages complex projects or processes with general oversight, communicates within and outside the function to gain cooperation on operational processes, practices, and procedures, and makes moderate to substantial improvements to systems and processes. The role contributes directly to departmental goals and operating plans. The schedule is a 9/80 arrangement: employees work nine out of every 14 days, totaling 80 hours, with every other Friday off. The employee must be able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret/SCI clearance and a favorable polygraph.
