About The Position

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in a STEM field and 12 years of relevant lab, ground, and flight test military or professional experience; or a master's degree in a STEM field and 10 years of relevant experience; or a Ph.D. and 8 years of relevant experience.
• Experience leading flight test programs.
• Experience with program risk, opportunity, and issue management processes.
• Experience in lab environments.
• An active Secret U.S. Government clearance, with a background investigation within the past 6 years or enrollment in Continuous Evaluation.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Top Secret U.S. clearance.
• Ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs, before employment begins.
• Ability to travel up to 25% of the time, as stated in the basic qualifications.
• Excellent communication skills, experience leading test engineering personnel, and ability to work in a matrix environment with multiple sources of management guidance.
• Ability to support extended shifts and occasional weekends as required to maintain program schedules.
• U.S. citizenship is required for positions requiring a government clearance.

• Prior clearance to a Special Access Program (SAP) or Special Compartmentalized Information (SCI).

Responsibilities

• Orchestrate lab, ground, and flight integration and developmental testing for Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems.
• Ensure engineering tests support developmental objectives and that mechanisms are in place to execute them.
• Review test-requirement status, manage schedules, and prepare test plans and reports.
• Identify test and test-program risks, issues, and pressures, and develop mitigation and closure plans.
• Coordinate ground test engineering and operations, as well as aircraft modifications for testing.
• Interact frequently with Engineering teams in Rancho Bernardo, Space Park, El Segundo, and Palmdale, ensuring cost and schedule targets are met.
• Provide program leadership with test-site employee staffing forecasts and timely resource forecasts to program management.
• Ensure appropriate staffing is in place to execute the Test Statement of Work.
