About The Position

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certified Elevator Technician degree or Elevator Mechanic License.
• Knowledge and skill in using hand and electrical tools, including grinders, drill motors, and coring machines.
• Knowledge and skill in using electrical reading and testing equipment, hoisting and rigging equipment, chain tackles, and related equipment.
• Ability to climb, crawl, stoop, climb ladders, and walk beams.
• Ability to lift and carry tools and materials weighing more than 50 pounds and to raise and carry, with assistance, items weighing 200 pounds.
• Ability to work from high ladders and scaffolding and safely near moving and working equipment.
• Availability to work on an on-call basis in emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Complete elevator modernizations and repairs in a professional and profitable manner.
• Conduct elevator repairs, modernizations, and inspections to ensure effective, efficient operation and compliance with safety regulations and OSHA requirements.
• Perform annual tests to verify the proper operation of safety devices during final inspections.
• Assist in determining the suitability of existing elevator equipment, proposed modifications, and new equipment.
• Perform other duties related to the work described.
