About The Position

Requirements

• Associate degree in a healthcare field or graduation from a cancer-registry-specific degree program.
• CTR certification must be obtained within three years of the hire date.
• Able to work independently and be self-motivated.
• Excellent verbal and communication skills.
• Basic report-running skills.
• Able to concentrate in a fast-paced office environment with interruptions.
• Able to perform the stated physical activities, including pushing or pulling a 60-pound cart.

Nice To Haves

• CTR or RHIT preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review and/or abstract cases and collect follow-up data from CPN practices.
• Code data using ICD-O-3, the AJCC Cancer Staging Manual, the SEER Summary Staging Manual, and FORDS.
• Complete follow-up for all living patients and perform case-finding duties.
• Coordinate Oncology Quality Assurance activities.
• Ensure activities meet ACOS guidelines and data-quality standards.
• Understand and help maintain ten ACOS standard books used for survey and program approval.
• Understand the mechanics of running statistical reports and graphs for physicians.
• Provide backup for Cancer Conferences and maintain knowledge of AHEC procedures.
