About The Position
As a Clinical Data Abstractor at Citizen Health, you will use your clinical expertise to transform complex patient medical records into longitudinal data that supports rare disease research. You will work with clinical teams to ensure high-quality abstraction of patient information and develop expertise in the company’s disease models, ontology, and proprietary systems. The role is suited to a clinical professional who is comfortable working with complex information and motivated to contribute to rare disease research.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of experience providing clinical care for patients with rare genetic disorders.
- Current licensure in good standing as a Registered Nurse, Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, or Genetic Counselor.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working effectively in cross-functional teams.
- Expertise in HIPAA data privacy regulations and data security best practices.
- Proficiency with technology and software tools for data analysis, and ability to adapt quickly to new platforms.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work in a fast-paced environment.
- Clinical background in rare genetic disorders, neurology, cardiology, or metabolic disorders.
Nice To Haves
- Clinical care experience with pediatric neurologic, metabolic, and cardiovascular conditions.
- Experience in healthcare data annotation, chart reviews, or research data entry.
Responsibilities
- Abstract and review relevant longitudinal information from patient medical records accurately and efficiently while maintaining high quality standards.
- Develop expertise in the proprietary disease model, ontology, and internal annotation tools to improve productivity and data quality.
- Support quality assurance initiatives, pilot annotation projects, and the development of guidance and training materials.
- Collaborate with the clinical annotation team to maintain consistent data extraction approaches and meet delivery commitments for research partners.
- Adapt to new content areas and changing project requirements, approaching new work as a learning opportunity.
- Identify process improvements and contribute to platform enhancement through testing, feedback, and issue reporting.
