About The Position

Requirements

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of mission-critical services work or applied learning experience in high-availability assembly, manufacturing, critical infrastructure, or a related environment, or equivalent experience.
• Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements, including the Microsoft Cloud Background Check at hire or transfer and every two years thereafter.
• Authorization to work in the United States without employer sponsorship now or in the future.
• Ability to perform the stated physical activities, including climbing ladders and stairs, prolonged standing, and occasional lifting or pushing/pulling with or without assistance.
• Ability to work 12-hour shifts, potentially during evenings, nights, weekends, or holidays, and travel periodically up to 25%.

Nice To Haves

• At least 1 year of experience in a specialized area such as mechanical, electrical, or controls work, or a related field.
• Associate degree, technical trade certification, or higher-equivalent education and at least 7 years of mission-critical services experience, or a high school diploma/GED/equivalent and at least 10 years of mission-critical services experience, or equivalent experience.
• At least 1 year of people management experience.

Responsibilities

• Promote and maintain a safe and secure working environment, ensure compliance with applicable procedures and regulations, and escalate unsafe conditions.
• Assess resources and equipment needed to support environmental health and safety objectives; participate in required meetings, training, and handoffs.
• Prepare and review complex reports, analyze findings, document observations, and support trend analysis and root-cause analysis.
• Develop and oversee methods of procedure, standard operating procedures, and digital operating procedures for complex or interdependent equipment and disciplines.
• Review work completed by less experienced technicians and oversee required technical, procedural, and mandatory training.
• Guide, oversee, and perform planned, predictive, and corrective maintenance and repairs across multiple disciplines and equipment types.
• Prioritize, document, communicate, and escalate maintenance activities; ensure follow-up actions are completed and maintenance schedules are followed.
• Provide technical consultation on equipment, systems, repairs, risk levels, and maintenance practices; serve as a subject matter expert in a discipline.
• Plan and coordinate maintenance work, inspections, testing, commissioning, and contractor or supplier activities; review vendor reports, invoices, and work orders.
• Ensure vendor work meets scope and documentation requirements, address quality concerns, and coordinate safe work execution with contractors and suppliers.
• Troubleshoot equipment, systems, subsystems, and components; document issues, determine when escalation is needed, and coach team members through troubleshooting.
• Inspect and supervise inspections of critical facility equipment, buildings, and grounds for unsafe or abnormal conditions and analyze trends.
• Monitor facility equipment and systems through central monitoring locations, telemetry, control systems, and other platforms; understand alarms, assess risks, and escalate according to policy.
• Use equipment data and trends to develop predictive analyses, identify potential issues, and ensure monitoring equipment work meets service-level requirements.
• Operate and oversee systems across electrical, mechanical, controls, and other disciplines, understanding interactions among systems and the overall operation of a data center.
• Lead onsite incident response for abnormal conditions, coordinate corrective repairs, gather incident information, and create timelines, root-cause analyses, and action items.
• Develop or follow emergency operating procedures and coordinate emergency monitoring response plans; assign team tasks and communicate conditions, safety concerns, and next steps to leadership.
• Use the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) to track assets, work orders, task time, documentation, and procedure updates; coach team members on CMMS practices and audit team data.
• Generate CMMS reports, review spare equipment and parts, update stock records, and coordinate replenishment with suppliers or materials-handling partners.
