About The Position

As a Critical Environment Technician (CET) on Microsoft’s Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) team, you will help maintain the critical infrastructure that keeps Microsoft datacenters operating. The role involves monitoring and inspecting equipment, performing maintenance and repairs, troubleshooting equipment, enforcing safety and security requirements, and developing methods of procedure (MOPs) and standard operating procedures (SOPs). CO+I supports the infrastructure and foundational technologies behind Microsoft online services, including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and Microsoft Azure. The role may involve periodic domestic travel of up to 25% and 12-hour shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, or holidays. Work may take place for extended periods in elevated ambient noise, heat, and light, with occasional ladder climbing, frequent stair or ramp climbing, prolonged standing, and specified lifting and pushing/pulling demands. Microsoft describes a focus on employee development, with training and opportunities such as career rotation programs, Diversity & Inclusion training and events, and professional certifications. The role is not eligible for visa sponsorship; candidates must be authorized to work in the United States without current or future employer sponsorship.
