Quality Coach - Child Care Aware

About The Position

MAHUBE-OTWA is actively recruiting a Quality Coach for our Child Care Aware program. We are seeking a passionate individual to help us strengthen our communities focusing on improving access to childcare for families by increasing the availability of high-quality, inclusive licensed childcare programs in collaboration with local and statewide efforts. Support licensed family and center based childcare programs in implementing practices, setting goals, providing technical assistance and educating on grant funding and program requirements to obtain Parent Aware rating and continuous improvement through ongoing coaching. Provide coaching, technical assistance, and associated data management.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in child development, early childhood education, or related field and at least one year of experience. An equivalent combination of education and/or experience will be considered.
  • 3 years of experience strongly preferred including experience working with children in a childcare setting.
  • Experience and/or demonstrated knowledge of licensed family childcare programs, group family childcare programs, head start, or childcare center.
  • Knowledge of Minnesota Statutes relating to child abuse and neglect, and reports of suspected maltreatment in accordance with State law and Agency policies.
  • Knowledge of early childhood development and implementing developmentally appropriate practice.
  • Knowledge of family systems and human service providers in the community.
  • Knowledge of family systems (including children, youth, parents, seniors, and chosen family), the impact of historical and contemporary inequities, cultural difference, and trauma-informed practices.
  • Ability to work independently and within a flexible schedule.
  • Evening and weekend hours may be required on a limited basis for events or to meet the needs of clients.
  • Knowledge and experience working with low-income and diverse populations with a commitment to incorporating the principles of diversity, equity, decolonization, and inclusion.
  • Exceptional professionalism required with staff, participants, and all stakeholders.
  • Must be able to develop and maintain relationships with a person-centered approach.
  • Strong organizational, time management, process, analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to be resourceful, adaptable, and demonstrate commitment.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing.
  • Strong computer skills including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Outlook (email), virtual connectivity and Agency/program specific software.
  • Must be able to honor private/confidential information.
  • Must be able and willing to make client /home visits.
  • Must have valid drivers’ license.
  • Background clearance required.

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to proficiently read and speak Spanish preferred.
