About The Position

Requirements

• Hold a medical degree, and must hold or be eligible for, licensure in the province of Quebec.
• Have completed Vascular Surgery training, preferably within the last 2-3 years and be certified by the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (or equivalent).
• Have completed a minimum of 1-year Clinical Fellowship in vascular surgery.
• Be committed to, and demonstrate excellence in, clinical care, research, teaching, and innovation.
• Bilingual language skills (French and English) are preferred, or a strong commitment to acquire the necessary language skills at the level needed to practice medicine in Quebec.
• Candidates should be able to interact in English and in French with patients, families, and health care professionals.
• Must be both authorized to work in Canada and willing to work in the province of Quebec at the campus where the position is based / located.
• Must be able to communicate in English both verbally and in writing.

Nice To Haves

• Added expertise in peripheral arterial intervention.
• Formal exposure to the programmatic implementation and administration of a limb-salvage program.
• Fellowship experience in TransCarotid Artery Revascularization (TCAR).
• Experience in the assessment and management of thoracic outlet syndromes.
• Formal evidence of excellence in clinical care, research, teaching, and innovation with prior peer-recognition, awards and/or distinctions.

Responsibilities

• Providing consultancy-level support for elective and emergency vascular surgery for our institutions.
• Participate actively in all clinical activities in the Division of Vascular Surgery including a general vascular surgery practice and the provision of on-call vascular surgery consultancy support.
• Assist in the development of a research or other scholarly focus and program, with the view to garner peer-reviewed grant and salary support.
• Be actively involved in relevant aspects of McGill’s academic mission (e.g., teaching, supervision of students and residents and involvement in academic and administrative committees).
• Contribute to service activities within their units, the University, and the wider scholarly community.
• Demonstrate a commitment to equity, diversity, and inclusion.
