About The Position

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED required
• Absolute integrity and accuracy in patient identification process
• Must be able to maintain absolute confidentiality in the handling of patient information
• Must be able to work in a team setting and maintain absolute confidentiality in the handling of patient information

Nice To Haves

• Associates Degree with a minimum of 6 semester hours of chemistry and 6 semester hours of biology preferred
• MLA certification from a nationally recognized credentialing agency (i.e. ASCP or AMT) preferred
• Previous work experience strongly preferred
• Keyboarding experience, 40 wpm preferred
• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to work in a fast paced, customer service oriented environment
• Ability to prioritize and change tasks frequently and quickly
• Able to work in a high stress environment with little/no downtime
• Flexibility related to the end of shift as shift end time may vary with workload

Responsibilities

• Receiving/processing requisitions/specimens
• Ordering specified lab tests according to standard operating procedures
• Responding to phone requests
• Entering lab test data into computer
