About The Position

The Central Sterile Processing Technician carries out department functions related to the cleaning, inspection, packaging, and sterilization of instruments and equipment. The role maintains accurate monitoring records, uses and interprets chemical and biological indicators, and appropriately cleans sterilization equipment. The technician assists operating room personnel in locating and reprocessing instruments, participates in performance improvement activities, follows established policies and procedures, and communicates openly with internal customers and supervisors. The position requires excellent customer service and effective interaction with staff, management, and physicians at all levels.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• CSP certification: CRCST or CBSPD certification.
• Previous surgical instrumentation and equipment decontamination and sterilization experience, with familiarity with various instrument sterilization methods.
• Excellent customer service skills, initiative, ability to take independent action, and ability to establish and maintain outstanding working relationships.

Nice To Haves

• Previous operating room technician or central supply technician experience, including appropriate certification, is preferred.
