About The Position

Carries out central sterile processing department procedures, including washing, inspecting, packaging, and sterilizing instruments and equipment; maintaining accurate monitoring records; using and interpreting chemical and biological indicators; and appropriately cleaning sterilization equipment. Assists operating room personnel in locating and reprocessing instruments and participates in performance improvement activities. Follows established policies and procedures, communicates openly with internal customers and supervisors, and provides excellent customer service while working with staff, management, and physicians.

Requirements

• Previous experience with surgical instrumentation and equipment decontamination and sterilization, including familiarity with various instrument sterilization methods.
• CSP certification: CRCST or CBSPD certification.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Excellent customer service skills, initiative, ability to take independent action, and ability to establish and maintain outstanding working relationships.

Nice To Haves

• Previous operating room technician or central supply technician experience, including appropriate certification, is preferred.
