About The Position

The Central Sterile Processing Technician carries out department procedures, including washing, inspecting, packaging, and sterilizing instruments and equipment; maintaining accurate monitoring records; using and interpreting chemical and biological indicators; and cleaning sterilization equipment. The technician assists operating room personnel in locating and reprocessing instruments and participates in performance improvement activities. The role follows established policies and procedures, communicates openly with internal customers and supervisors, and provides excellent customer service while interacting with staff, management, and physicians.

The position is scheduled from 3:00 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. on Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday.

Requirements

• Previous surgical instrumentation and equipment decontamination and sterilization experience, with familiarity with various instrument sterilization methods.
• Excellent customer service skills, initiative, and the ability to take independent action.
• Ability to establish and maintain outstanding working relationships.
• High school diploma or GED.
• CSP certification: CRCST or CBSPD certification.
• Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution Certified Registered Central Service Technician certification.

Nice To Haves

• Previous operating room technician or central supply technician experience, including appropriate certification.
