About The Position

The Sterile Processing Technician II works in the Central Sterile Processing Department at Texas Health Plano in Plano, Texas. This is a full-time evening position, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., with rotating weekend on-call responsibilities. The role supports instrument processing and tracking by preparing instrument trays and other items for sterilization. The department offers the opportunity to work with a diverse patient population, contribute to patient care, and pursue educational and professional growth.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CSPDT, CBSPD, or CRCST certification required upon hire.
• Detail-oriented.

Nice To Haves

• One year of sterile processing experience preferred.
• Recent sterile processing experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Scan instrument trays to determine location and create count sheets and labels.
• Assemble instrument trays using proper techniques.
• Wrap or contain instruments and trays.
• Use the instrument tracking system to scan and track instrument tray locations.
• Load items properly for the applicable sterilization method.
• Scan prepared items into the correct sterilizer load.
