Sterile Processing Technician II (SPT) – Central Sterile Processing
About The Position
The Sterile Processing Technician II works in the Central Sterile Processing Department at Texas Health Plano. The role prepares and tracks instrument trays and other items for sterilization, ensuring they are assembled, contained, loaded, and scanned appropriately. The position is full-time, evening shift, 40 hours per week, Monday through Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m., with rotating weekend on-call duty. Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- CSPDT, CBSPD, or CRCST certification required upon hire.
- Detail-oriented.
Nice To Haves
- One year of sterile processing experience preferred.
- Recent sterile processing experience is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Scan instrument trays to record their location and create count sheets and labels.
- Assemble instrument trays using proper techniques.
- Wrap or contain instruments and trays appropriately.
- Scan instrument trays to track their location using the instrument tracking system.
- Load items using the proper technique for the sterilization method.
- Scan prepared items into the correct sterilizer load.
