About The Position

The Central Sterile Processing Technician carries out department procedures for washing, inspecting, packaging, and sterilizing instruments and equipment. The role maintains accurate monitoring records, uses and interprets chemical and biological indicators, and appropriately cleans sterilization equipment. The technician also assists operating room personnel with locating and reprocessing instruments and participates in performance improvement activities. The position requires following established policies and procedures, communicating openly with internal customers and supervisors, and providing excellent customer service while working with staff, management, and physicians.

Requirements

• Previous surgical instrumentation or equipment decontamination and sterilization experience, with familiarity with various instrument sterilization methods.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Initiative and ability to take independent action.
• Ability to establish and maintain outstanding working relationships.
• High school diploma or GED.
• CSP certification: CRCST or CBSPD certification.

Nice To Haves

• Previous operating room technician or central supply technician experience, including appropriate certification.
