Central Sterile Technician - Central Sterile Processing Department - CSPD - Evenings
About The Position
The Central Sterile Technician works in the Central Sterile Processing Department at NewYork-Presbyterian/Columbia University Medical Center. Under the direction of the department supervisor, the role manually cleans and reprocesses scopes safely and cost-effectively according to established policies and procedures. The technician also cleans, sterilizes, and assembles equipment, supplies, and instruments using prescribed procedures and techniques. This full-time position is scheduled from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m., including rotating weekends and alternating holidays, and requires on-site presence.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Current Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) certification from the International Association of Healthcare Central Service Material Management, or certification from the Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD).
Nice To Haves
- Prior Central Sterile Processing Department (CSPD) experience.
- Experience with scopes.
- CER certification.
