About The Position

Requirements

• Six months of experience as a CYS Caseworker 1.
• Successful completion of the Social Casework Intern program.
• A bachelor's degree with a social welfare or Social Work major.
• A bachelor's degree which includes or is supplemented by 12 college credits in sociology, social welfare, social work, psychology, gerontology, criminal justice, or other related social sciences, and one year of professional social casework experience in a public or private social services agency.
• Valid driver’s license and positive driving record at the time of hire.
• Favorable criminal background check, child abuse and FBI clearances at the time of hire.
• Favorable references at the time of hire.
• Proof of a valid Pennsylvania driver’s license within 60 days from the date of hire (or alternative identification if not eligible for PA driver's license and driving is not essential).

Responsibilities

• Performs social service casework and case management for children, adolescents and their families by conducting interviews, assessing needs, and case planning.
• Establishes and maintains associated confidential records.
• Collaborates with legal staff in judicial and quasi-judicial proceedings pursuant to clients’ well-being.
• May make task assignments to a Social Service Aide.
