Requirements

• Proficiency in an AutoCAD software environment and Microsoft Office tools.
• Motivated, organized, resourceful, and proactive, with a team-oriented style.
• Ability to adapt as work priorities shift and are reshuffled.
• Ability to interpret instructions provided in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Strong organization and attention to detail and quality.
• Strong interpersonal and speaking skills.
• An associate degree or certificate from an accredited educational institution is preferred; training in lieu of education or an equivalent combination of education and experience is also considered.

Responsibilities

• Draft utility designs under the oversight of a distribution engineer.
• Analyze line design data in job workbooks to produce utility job sketches.
• Prepare designs for facility replacement and system upgrades by converting standardized mapping products into AutoCAD.
• Evaluate and improve cartographic processes, including improving existing or developing new AutoCAD production processes to meet new cartographic products and requirements.
• Learn specialized mapping assignments.
• Assist newer coworkers in learning specific mapping tasks.
• Understand and execute as-built mapping.
• Use customer internal computer programs to complete job tasks, required submittal forms, and material entry, and work in a CAD mapping environment.
• Participate in regular training on process updates.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
